blew the engine a couple of weeks ago so decide to take it apart .
HAD A BIT OF A SUPPRISE when I opened it up.
 
engine had end float and the main bearings I think have been shot to pieces.
it split both cylinder heads between the spark plugs .
on inspection the con rod was dry as a bone on that cylinder
No oil pressure light came on but there was definatly over heating as the sparkplug shrouds had melted
did find a plastic bag in the dog house . that could have done it

Sorry about your engine. Yes your right, a plastic bag would not help :lol:

When you say it was in the dog house do you mean the fan? Its just that its hard to see how it could get into the doghouse since it would have to get past the fan.

With the level of overheating you describe along with the endfloat it sounds like there isnt much left to salvage on the old engine :(
 
running lean yeh thats a possibility .

No idea how the bag got there either!!!! :shock:

Yeh not much left of the long block worth salvaging but will strip it just to ave a look
