Brake fluid reservoir different locations

Hi all,
I was under the impression that the brake fluid reservoir sits behind a kick panel, but in our US LHD 71 Deluxe there appears to be one between the driver's seat and the bulkhead ...... Normal??

Perfectly normal for a US model '71:

European models had the fluid reservoir in the front kick panel, US ones behind the driver's seat. Not sure why.....
