Brake lines

Hey,

I'm renewing all the steel lines and flexi hoses on my 71.
I've done the fronts along with a caliper seal kit so far, and doing the rest this weekend.
The longest steel that runs through the chassis, is it clipped in anywhere ?, or once undone from the 't' junctions should it slide through ? :?

I have replaced this once on my old 72 van, the pipe had corroded at the ends, turned out quite easy to replace, no clips just a rubber seal at each end , then slid out of the tube. When I replaced it I fed the new pipe through with no ends on then made the ends (crimped) in place.
