OK, replaced my upper reservior ( round type) with a repro one when i first got bus, put new seal on where res meets pipe but it has always leaked a bit.
As it appears to be getting slightly worse and i now have what appears to be genuine reservior ( more solid then repro which is a softer plastic) i am going to replace it this year, along with the pipe as the pipe is i believe not helping.
My question is should the pipe be flexible or solid ( currently solid plastic fitted ) and does anyone know where i can get one? heritage etc do not list them.

Hi dave the pipe is made of hard plastic with two seals one at each end. This pipe is not avalible anymore so i would use your old one.If you remove it to inspect it be carefull as it runs throgh the cross members under the cab floor.I would have thought it was a little more supple when new
Cheers chris

I think Heritage do a suitable replacement pipe, a friend if mine has some for his Ghia.

If its the blue flexi rubber pipe, its to small, i ve got some for my bug and that was my first thought!!
hope new rubber, or 2 as pipe seems loose and replacement old reservior, will play with it at weekend!!

That is the stuff. Shame it is the wrong diametre.
I had the same issue but managed to get a good enough seal in the end with a fuel hose clip.
Good luck

SORTED, new seal and secondhand reservior ( genuine vw ) Looked at repro reservior that was fitted and outlet pipe was not round, probebly why it was leaking!!!!!
