Hi All

For some reason the drum brakes on my 68 bay seem to have gone really stiff.

I nearly have to lift myself out of the seat to get the brakes to do anything as the pedal is really hard to press.

This appears to have happened after jacking 1 side of the van up to check a belly pan.

Anybody got any ideas?

Many Thanks

What brakes are you running? Is there a servo? Do all of the wheels run free when jacked up? Where did you jack from?

You might want to replace the flexible brake lines if old, as that is normally what happens when they start to go bad. Cheap life insurance!!

flexi pipes or hard pipes are the most likely reason, they didnt get 'nipped' or damaged when you put the van back down off the jacks? most likely place is near at the caliper.

i would check all your brakes, get them hubs off and have a nose cos it sounds like you have a sticky brake cylinder aswell. See if there is one wheel that gets hotter than the others after a drive
