Can I replace the barrel

I’ve got this rear hatch handle with no locking mech. My van has a cheap (looking, not by price) black handle currently fitted. Can I get a replacement mech for the OG one or would the mech out of the black one transfer over ok. That’s if it comes apart. Cheers

You could swap the genuine ones over , not sure repro and genuine interchange ,pull it apart and give it a go
