Bit of a favour but does anyone have a '69 or '70 bus that is still stock and could measure the distance between the middle of the front wheel and the bottom of the front arch for me please -just trying to work out how much my bus has been lowered by?

Many thanks

Matt

Owners manual gives vehicle height. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/jan70bus/70ownmanpage57.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have a 68 stock height I can measure if that's any good. It's only stock till the weekend though then coming down

I'm hoping you'll come back with a measurement of around 450m

using the diameter of your existing tyre, an original tyre, your roof height and the stock roof height from the manual you should be able to work it out ;)

16.5 inch on a late bay ,around 420mm

mine is stock 69-70 and measures 44cm from wheel centre to arch. this is with the cab empty.

i can post a pic of the measurement if you want.

Thats makes a difference of about 100 mm so your looking at a rough drop of 4 inches

Never thought to measure the stock height before messing with my '68 but don't suspect the measurement was any different to the above '69/'70. That means I've lost six and a half inches. :shock: Ooo - er missus!!!!
