Hi all

just refurbishing a pair of 36 dells they are to go on a 1955 (90.5x76) bus engine (cb 044 40x35.5 heads ck 35 cam)so torque is the goal

They come with 30mm vents
122 gas
180 air
idle 52
pump jet 33
etube 9164.2

Are 30 vents too small? should i look at 32mm and 130 mains?

how about the rest

how about 40 pump jets
60 idle
and keep the air the same?

thanks in advance

The vents have to be a little bit smaller than the intake valves should be ok, 32 or maybe slightly larger might be needed. Run it and see. If not ask Eurocarb for the specs.

Off the top of my head I'd say the idles should be 55/60s and the pumps should be 35s.
Emulsion tubes sound fine as do the airs, but you want around 130 mains for 30mm chokes, and around 140 mains for 32 chokes.

Definitely up the pumps and idles and see how it goes from there. The trouble with Dells is theres a lot of trial and error = initial outlay in jets before you get it right.

thanks for that.. yeah 130 sounds good. somewhere in between what the racy boy suggest at 140 and what the dellorto super performance suggests at 122 that along with the other jets should get me running..

thanks
