Hey. So I'm still new to the world of VW's and have a really basic question! :mrgreen:

I want to change the wheels on my bus but I'm unsure of the effect downsizing will have? I currently have some kind of Empi 5 wheels with the following tyre sizes-185/65R15 rear, 185/55R15 front. What would the effect be if I changed these to some steels- 185/65-14 rear, 185/60-14 front?

And am I right thinking split screen steels will fit my bus? It's a 1968.

Cheers
Rob

Yes splitscreen wheels will fit any wide 5 stud pattern. I wouldn't go any smaller on the rear as it will put a lot of stress on the tranny.

Check this out. http://www.alloywheels.com/Tyre_Calculator" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Look up the diameter of the tyres to see how much height you will lose.

Currently your fronts have a diameter of 584mm if you went for 185 R14 65 the diameter would increase and raise your bus by half an inch to 596mm. Pretty simple process. You do the maths. :)
