Chassis registration

Hi guys I'm new to the forum. I bought my t2 a couple of years ago knowing nothing about vw's at all. The van is currently on a 1975 plate but have since found out that my bus is actually a 1970 so has the wrong plates on. I I Is there anyway to find out If my chassis number is linked to a different number plate I've spoken to dvla but not much help.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated

Post a pic of your chassis (VIN) plate and the M code plate if you have one.
The chassis plate is mounted on the B pillar inside the offside door, the M plate will be either on the nearside seat bulkhead or under the dash next to the fusebox.

The chassis number is 2302040897 not sure how I put pictures on but will try get some this week cheers

According to the chassis number it's a 1973 Model Year, so produced between August 1972 and July 1973.

Does it have a registration number. ie reg plates?

From the chassis no, it is a 1970 model, Aug 69 to July 1970 It should be a type 23 Kombi van

Yes, sorry not concentrating. 10 digit chassis no started in 1970MY.

I thought it was 1970 3rd number is a 0

Yep the third digit is the model year, first two are the type number 2=type 2, 3=kombi
