Hi where is the best/cheapest place to buy a new windscreen for my bay as i know shipping alone is expensive(i'm in Poole Dorset area if there are any local places)

Screens are still availble brand new from any windscreen supplier, just phone around your local suppliers (RAC, auto windscreens etc) and they will be able to order you one.

Dont buy from the vw dealers and pay the added scene tax.

My mate bought a brand new screen end of last year for £80 (RAC from memory), also know someone who had one supplied and fitted £130

Could you not just pay the excess and claim on your windscreen cover on your insurance

I did this and paid £90 supplied and fitted plus they are take the responsibility of any breakages whilst fitting ;-)

Cant claim as its a fresh import and still not registered!

As previously posted they are still available new, find a local independent windscreen fitting company and ask them to supply one, should be less than £100 if you are going to fit it yourself, but is used to pay £115 fully fitted if I supplied the seal.
