I especially like the last two photos at the bottom of the page that say

'' rear outriggers No rust Here ''

No cus ther covered in dodgy weled plates and more fresh underseal than a Halfords store stocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunatly we are now back to dodgy Classic car specialists who've realised how much you can make outta Vws

My favourite bit:

"She also needed at least 5 big burly garage men to move her, as her wheels barely worked, so they were completely rebuilt as well"

anyone got any experience of rebuilding wheels? interesting concept...

Ill be having nightmares tonight.

Imports all the way when you see buses like this.....

I knew the words 'rat look' would haunt us one day :? It gives people who arent in the know justification for selling crap and dont be fooled into thinking imports arent exempt from the quick buck dealers, they are happily buying up all those lovely freshly painted east coast beauties for all the poor sods who know no better.
Best place to buy an Early bay? Right here on this forum

I love the bit at the bottom..

"This is a very rare chance to get a Bay window camper for reasonable money which does not require thousands of pounds spent on welding."

Then go back up..

"I don’t know the condition or the floor supports, inner chassis legs and inner sill. As none of these can be checked unless the belly pans are cut off"

OMG

what a pile of shite! this has got to be a joke?

If Del boy sold VWs.... this one would be a contender.

plop springs to mind

be careful, this particular kind of rot is of the H5N1 strain, and is highly contageous! it seems it has passed to its current owner and is attacking his brain!

This thread made me look under my belly pans..

Thank fook mine have done their job properly.. I'll quote the seller: "No rust here"

sad thing is that my sister in law is looking for a bay and even they would balk at this one - that os corner is to die for!!

AHH

This is the reply i got when asking for info on the belly pans

"Hi, they are a funny thing, its nothing major to worry about, if there is any problems beneath them then it is easy to sort. I have cut many off in the past and some welding is almost always needed. often only a small patch or 2 (about £50) some times more, however they need never be cut off, they will never fail an MOT on what is under them as there is no way of checking. Just remember I am being very honest. Most people dont even mention them, and they are a good thing, they help protect the chassis from rust, its just they can hide problems beneath. Also the side sill has been removed and replaced recently, I would hope any problems were sorted then, it may well be as good as new underneath. Thanks, Tim."

WOAH, hold on " however they need never be cut off, they will never fail an MOT on what is under them as there is no way of checking."

Anyone sense that this van may be unsafe, and he's dismissing it as safe because its 'impossible' to check underneath?! Sounds like some specialist to me!

Saw this at volksfest for sale. Think he wanted about £3500 What a gem someones getting a real bargin  , looking at the underside came compleate wath 6 inches 0f black undercoat/ stonechip.
The rear corner looks even worse in real life.

Looking at the campers there for sale there was some real CRAP for £4500. Why do they think people will spend more money at a show for a van.
