Just renewed again. A very nice seemless transaction, with a great price. Hats off 8)

Sorting my renewal out at the moment. Bit more than last year so just tried an online quote with Peter James. Much cheaper! :S Will call Cherished back in a moment and see if they can do any better...

Jim

Yes, much better. Still not as low as Peter James but does include more mileage and driveway parking as opposed to garaged. So I can't complain at that. Renewed 8)

Cherished are OK as long as you don't require European breakdown cover.

Or, in my experience, commuting to a fixed place of work - shame, as I was happy with their service otherwise :(

What makes you say that?

My old Certificate clearly states "Use for Social Domestic & Pleasure including travelling to and from a permanent place of business"

I hope the new Certificate says the same thing!

I asked, and was told they couldn't cover me for commuting.
This was more than 12 months ago, so things may have changed since then, or it may have been due to my being under 25. I'll give them another try come renewal :)

I've renewed with Cherished, previously with Heritage(Chaucer). Not impressed with Heritage at all, hence move to Cherished!

I purchased their European breakdown cover for about £24 a few months after i got the policy, the AA wanted somthing like £130....

Did i miss something there?

there is a grey area on if they will repatriate you if you breakdown abroad.

Evening

Do you mind me asking what sort of price you paid, mine is due in Aug and may shop around, I'm currently with Equity Red Star which is through RH Specialist Insurance, think it was about £150 last year which is fully Comp with euro breakdown cover?

Changed my address with them, bus is staying in exactly the same location on the farm I used to live on even though my address changed, they cancelled my policy and gave me 7 days to return my insurance certificate as they wouldn't cover my new postcode.

I wont say exactly, but its defo cheaper than that and it includes 4000 miles a year and agreed value. 8)

Just got 24-day full Euro breakdown cover, including repatriation, from Norton Heritage for £60. I got a quote from the RAC for £150 so I have no complaints. Last time I went away I had RAC cover with my bank account, I phoned before I went to France and they said I was covered. Broke down in Sete and phoned them up only to be told I wasn't covered. A mechanic on the campsite fixed it for 25 euros and a bottle of wine.

Ok cheers, I'll give them a call when the time comes!

some of our french members had set up a map for the locations of friendly mechanic shops who are specialist in aircooled, i wonder would it be useful to add these and perhaps some german/dutch/belgian to the list?

I have no issues with Cherished, they are the main site sponsors so every policy bought actually goes toward paying for the server. I have all three dubs with them and do travel into europe (R.O.I)

Cherished- £270 with earlybay discount for just 3000 miles a year classic policy. No legal cover

Confused £124.50 for 5000 miles a year on a regular policy. Legal cover. Plus I can use it to commute.
