According to the Samba and all catalogues I've seen from the era, cloud white was the official colour?

Found my answer, Deluxe models had optional chrome bumpers.

It was really a US spec option, all the american cars of the era where big finned chromed nightmares and so local american dealers wouls give you the option and send your bumpers off to be chromed.

Those long weird to me, mine that i have on the rear of my bus came welded to the bumper and are much shorter than those.
