Louvres are pitted and need a good clean. Is metal polish best or is there a knack ?

Hi mate, i used a Dremel on mine first then applied the metal polish a few times came up great!

Drill and wire wheel good for the pitted stuff,

For polishing,
I bought a polishing wheel/wax kit off ebay for a drill

Worked well for the rough stuff but to be honest Autosol and elbow grease worked nearly as well on the finer stuff. (Pic below mid-polish)

If your not taking them to bits, mask the seals or a polishing wheel might damage them.

The last windows I overhauled I used scotch brite and WD40 to get rid of the dirt and corrosion then Autosol…
It was a lot of work but worth it

Sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know where I can get hold of replacement rubber strip that runs along the bottom that's seals each one when shut. Mine are nigh on missing and they rattle when I'm driving.

Think you have to buy the whole kit mate, £30something quid from German Camper Company (Wolfsberg West kit), can probably buy it elsewhere.

You'll have to take the window to bits to fit them. If your not replacing the glass seals its not too hard of a job, just did both mine.

Does anyone know why some are 3 and some are 4 lourves? I happened to be restoring my 3 pain set at min
