Howdy gang.
Haven't posted for a while but been lurking. I'm still battling with the continual chorus from my wife, "get rid of that thing" so I gotta get this latest issue sorted.
Basically, when returning from busiest last year had a fan belt shred on the M50 and needed to be towed home. Managed to pull over as he started to smoke but stopped before major damage occurred.
Stripped the motor down and found no major issue. Replaced the alternator pulley, fan belt, adjusted valves, new plugs, new leads, new exhaust. I have electronic ignition. Standard 1600 single port.
My issue is I have a cold start problem. Turns over fine but takes ages to fire. Never had this problem before. always started first turn even after 6 months rest. Hot start, no problem.
I'd appreciate any clues as to where to start so I can fix it and tell her "see, told you I'd get it sorted"
Thanks in advance people.
