Crankcase oil seal leaking

Hi i have just had the the crank case oil seal replaced but as soon as i drove it home it started leaking between the gearbox and the crankcase. The seal is going to replaced again but not sure which seal he used. What are the best crankcase seals to use and where can i get them?

I got a silicone one from GSF then used the mk3 golf sump sealent on it, no leaks.

Are you sure your case isn't warped Karle, thats another reason for it leaking...

Hi Karle, When I had my engine issues last year, it took 3 attempts at getting a seal that wouldn't leak.

I spoke to the guys yesterday and they ended up getting mine from heritage...give them a call but make sure you get the more expensive one!

Think its the red silicone seal that you need not the black one that comes with a rebuild kit

Did you all also replace the 'o'ring on the flywheel? There's no point replacing one without the other
