Mine have just arrived - How do they work? I've used sway-aways on a beetle before but these have me stumped,
do the torsion leaves need to be threaded? What holds them together, if you get my drift?

Any ideas? With sway-aways there is a cylindrical piece that fits inside the torsion tube and holds the leaves together, the adjuster is then bolted to this.

I'll have a look and get back later, but anyone else feel free to post in the mean time.

Have a look on page 2 of Haveacampers resto thread:

you cut a slot in the beam where the grub screw holding the torsion leaves is located on both tubes - the grub screw goes through a collar that has to be freed by drilling out dimples that clamp it in place, once removed the collar should be able to move in the tube. weld the bigger toothed plate onto the beam over the slot, to adjust height move up/down engage teeth with the smaller plate and tighten.

That makes sense now, didn't know there is a collar in the beam already, cheers.
