Curtain tie backs

This is going to sound daft but how do they work and does anyone have pictures?
I had tie backs sent with my curtains and they have one popper on the actual tie back and a bag of poppers and screws. So do the spare poppers go on the bus and if so how does this then connect to the curtain?

When you tell me it'll be really obvious.

The original tie backs ( well on my westy) are attached to the van on one end of the strip with the popper and screw and then the popper already on the tieback then goes round the curtain and fixes on to the popper you have attached to the van.......hope that makes sense. Good luck.
