Dash pod glasses

Anyone come up with a neat way of fixing this problem? :?:

The flat glass over the speedo and fuel gauge dials moves around when I'm driving and rattles when I go over a bump. :roll:

This is because the thin metal ring that holds the glass in is loose, the plastic mounts are brittle and broken off over the years.

I suppose VW were trying new types of plastics around this time and some age better than others. (thinking of the '70 fuse box as another example)

Or should I just put up with it?

broken mounts for the metal ring holder. In the pic you can just make out the bottom three remain but the other five have snapped off.

Superglue worked for me.

hello

all of mine had broken off

i used clear mastic as is flexible

and put in glass then retainer then a pea size blob next too snapped off plastic bits

look ok now

and clear so not see if i put two much on
