deluxe window rubber question

Anyone know if the chrome strips are fitted before or after window installation ,and any tips,just had a windscreen fitting company turn up and didnt know where to start,so bit in the dark now ,cheers guys D....

most are of the concensus its easier to fit the strips before fitting the window to the van,

so fit the rubber to the window, then the strips into the rubber then the window to the van.

Dont think there is a easy way to fit deluxe window trim.

Im sure you have to put the rubber around the glass before popping it in the appature. (with the string in the groove to pull the rubber inside the van) Never done it or seen it done by putting the window into the rubber when the rubbers in the frame. Infact thinking about it it would surely be impossible.

hello mate ,they are the plastic strip type,will that be difficult ?

naaa not for a glass fitter,if he dident know what to do tho id get rid.its not rocket science.errrr are u in afternoons?was it just the front or all of them you need doing ?

Hi , yes we have fitted lots , if your fitting the plastic chrome insert you put this in last fit the rubber around glass fit it into your van and then with a special tool you insert the chrome plastic . But if your fitting the chrome ali style insert you have to put this in first. any more info call vw emporium 07703-209663 cheers
