and later on i will be fitting a remote servo, as youcannot retro fit a later servo to a drum brake bus.
axl - I dont understand why not?? only reason I can think is not having a servo mounting plate?
I have a 944 s2 servo with a pushrod that I fitted to my 70 bay. Its no longer required so up for grabs if your interested....problem with the remote servos (aside from expense) is they are often singel circuit. if you used my set up then you use the porsche MC piggybacked on the porsche servo retaining duel circuit which is much safer.

not trying to big up my servo for a sale - but its surplus due to upgrade - if your interested PM me and i can explain more - only after £20 plus post. Machining cost me more than that!!!

Sounds interesting, the big question is what did you upgrade to? If it costs you the sale I'll buy the 944 servo!!!

well its complicated....I fitted the servo with the brakes (928S4 brembos front and 944 s2 brembos rear) but then I fitted power steering with a steering rack conversion (all home brewed)
The new Idler arm required for the steering rack fouled on the 944 servo...so i needed a smaller servo for clearance...in the end I used a 2000 Polo servo with the 944s2 master cylinder....so you could say i down graded i suppose :?

pics?!?!?!

I have a full set of 944 non turbo brakes from an 87 as well as what I believe are 911 rear aluminum trailing arms. I dunno what to do. Wouldn't do discs without a servo though. If you can't post enough pics here then send 'em to [email protected] if you've got them.

I have a 64 split crewcab and a 70 single cab to play with the 944 brake options...

not much time to post pics...but here awrite up of the back I did which might give you some ideas...

fronts were much easier. note the brakes you are usin re competely different to my brembos. but principles sohuld be the same.

Thanks for your time and the link to the writeup, will study it tonight to see what parts I still need!

With the motor off, you should get two or three fantastic powerful stops, your check valve is probably bad if they work great with the engine running only.

I tried to look for my check valve when diagnosing my servo vacuum leak, but there wasn't one, all looks original piping, so maybe these were fitted later. In any case i shall be installing one along with my new servo and MC, I understand along with having the ability to pump the brakes a few times if the engine dies with servo assistance, it also protects the diaphram if the engine backfires through the manifold.
