Thinking of upgrading my dizzy.
It a Dual Vac advance type (2 outlets on the vac can) but i have been reading up on these and apparently VW replaced these with Single vac advance dizzy as the DVDA was un-reliable.
The dizzy works (have blocked off the retard pipe) but have a bit of spare cash to play with and having upgraded / rebuilt the rest of the engine i think its time to replace this.
I have read lots about the replacement Dizzy's that JK (etc) sell and have been put off by the build quality, also dont want to go for a 009 as dont think this is will benefit me any.
My engine is a rebuitl 1600TP, Weber progressive carb, 4 - 1 Single quiet pack exhaust, Alternator conversion.
What dizzy would be best suited? And where is best to buy from? I have looked at electronic ignition but think the price compared to a new set of pointsis not worth it (or is it?)
Any help / ideas / advice welcome

dizzy - get a good second hand original one, or someone on here tried the 123 dizzy that is fairly new on the market, have a search for that as I think it has built in electronic ignition & got good reviews.

dizzy worth a try?

Hopefully sourced a 043.905.205 single vac dizzy, just need to decide on what electronic ignition to fit and hopefully i'll have a more reliable bay (had fun and games with the points opening and coming loose while coming back from Cornwall last year and trying to eliminate this ready for this years jaunt!) although i will keep my current dizzy as back up should anything go wrong!
