Just had my first drive with our little one in the bus today!
Whenever our little 2year old girl walks past the bus in the garage she pats it and says hello bus, just like her dada 😍
Due to only having two seatbelts I’ve never taken out the family on a drive, but thought why not try the seatbelt-only child seat? I was actually surprised the belt is long enough to fit around the child seat! She was keen to go in the bus but when it came round to going in she just flat refused, I was so saddened… a few hours later I asked if she wanted to help me drive it back into the garage and she was all for it, here we go again… BUT she actually really wanted to get into her seat in the front, so rather than just reversing onto the garage I said we have to go round the block first…. Halfway down the road I asked how she liked it and she said she did so asked if she wanted to drive to a playground in the next town and she wanted to 😁 so off we went and she loved it the whole way there 🥰
Same on the way back as well and the horn doing it’s sweet beep beep was the highlight at the end, so chuffed she loved it. At bedtime she even said good night bus bus before telling me good night 😘
Great first memory with her in our bus, looking forward to many more.
How are your kids with your bus and where do you get seatbelts properly installed in the back (I’ve got a panel) I’ve asked a few places but none want to do it due to insurance…
Happy bus driver 😄

My daughter loved our bus up until she was about 14(?), then it just wasn’t cool anymore and she didn’t like the constant attention it got. Fair enough, teenage life is what it is.

I had a three point seatbelt in the rear with an extension to raise the mount point. Worked well in a car seat, booster and on her own. She slept in the cab bunk almost all the time as she was only small.

I miss those times already …

I don’t have any kids but I do /did take my nephews out in the bus for a few camping expeditions which they thought was great. I’m glad Clem has said ^^^ what he said above because my lot are all teenagers now and way too busy fighting the universe on there laptops or whatever they get up to . I was a little saddened by them not wanting to go anymore and I’m glad that’s been pointed out to me.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,might be my grumpiness though instead. :)

Our kids absolutely love it. They are 7 and 5 now and up until last year we managed with a 3 point belt in the back and a lap belt with an appropriate seat. The youngest has now outgrown that seat so we are using a multimac instead which is awesome (although a little heavy). It wasn't cheap but I figured it should get another 10 years of use with the kids.

My 5 and 7 year old girls love the camper. We use it a lot for holidays and day trips to the beach, making memories. Before I had kids I restored a mk1 vw caddy but it just sits in the garage doing nothing now as we can’t go out in it as a family. The kids love camping in it too, the oldest adores her cab bunk.

My kids are 20 & 17 now, about 16 and 14 when I got the bus, they thought it was quite cool and we went on a few day trips. More recently we've been down to Cornwall, last year and this year, which surprisingly they enjoyed. They took a separate tent and we used the awning for sleeping the first time, this year we bought a large 6 birth tent, I still slept in the van though as it was a bit cramped. Sometimes my son and I have 'campervan beers' which involves sitting in the campervan playing music on Spotify through the stereo whilst having a few beers. He's just gone off to uni so I'll have to persuade my wife. Not sure what will happen next year. Hope to get away at least once.

I’ve had my bus a long time but never had running. I’ve often thought of giving up on the project and selling but it’s my kids that have said no way !!
They’re all way to big now to actually sleep in it.
Last new year’s eve my youngest son who’s a teenager had nothing to do. We sat in the back of a half built van on the drive playing cards and drinking hot chocolate.
My other son wants to eat fish and chips and watch sunset over sea in it.
They have grown up with it and now help me work on it.

When we travelled any distance in the car we played bus spotting. Sweets rewarded for first shout. We still do it now !!
They also loved the shows and meets.

Our 2 boys were in there 30's when we got our bus in 2011. However, the reason We got a bus was because my youngest lad already had one. We went to stay with them and had a trip out in the bus, I fell in love with the idea immediately which is strange because I couldn't stand camping as a child. We now have a 12 year old granddaughter wo loves both her Dad's and our bus and jumps at any excuse to go on a trip.

My 6 and 10 yewr old love our 68 Westfalia. I've fitted two 3 point belts in the back for them.

Ours has been converted to the later continental roof bed so my 10yr old sleeps up there and my 6yr old sleeps in the Cab Bunk.

My two love the bus more then me. An the Mrs. If goining away I park it on the drive night before, they wake up its like Xmas. Then they start dragging their stuff in.

Two three point seat belts in back. I bought an adapter bar of a guy on the late bay. Witch helped fitting with the larger car seat when they were a bit smaller.

^^^ what he just said, and I can’t get over the fact that his two aren’t still ten and twelve. They’re gonna be giants if they get any bigger!

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, spose even I was young once :)
