is it possible to strip the original vinyl outer cover from a hardboard card and re-glue it to a new card? I have 2 door cards where the lower parts of the hardboard have wet rotted out, but the overall vinyl is in good condition and looks like it could re-used.
cheers

Yes can be done, I'm just doing a pair of doorcards from my mates '63 Beetle,
get all the old glue off the vinyl & warming it up will make it a lot easier, using 3mm hardboard & one of the old cards as a template.

ah - that would be a great help - am going to cut my own boards from 3mm hardboard using existing cards as templates but the corners etc on some of them are a bit 'hit-miss' so a proper template would be a boon - can you pm it to me? excellent!!
cheers
Rob
