just back back from eye casuality for the second time in a month. and had rust dremmelled off the front of my eye for the second time in a month. i always wear safety glasses and even sometimes couple that with a full face screen (to prevent wire brush spikes in the face) but somehow ive got metal in my eye twice now. cant quite work out how ive lasted 2 years without it happening then get got twice in a month. i cant quite express the fear of having the front face of yor eyeball sanded down with a surgical dremmel. but lets say the next purchase for my van will be a set of the best goggles money can buy

dude i met two fellas in casulty with the same dilema...they both said they`d been in at least twice a year for two years and they both wore goggles........something to do with being tired and rubbing your eyes and metal flakes coming from your hair!

its the local anaesthetic in your eye that came as a shock to me,got that stung, and with no warning

the first time i went the girl was from aus and appeared to be impressed with my tales of campers etc. she put the drops in my eye when i had my head in the jig (stops your head moving). sadly tonight, some guy who was unimpressed with me came at me freestyle (un jigged) with a cotten bud and flipped my eye lid the wrong way and prodded before he even cracked out the anteceptic. then when i objected after flipping it back myself he then eye dropped me three times, again freestyle. w##ker. i bet he drives a french car, maybe even italian what with his gung how attitude

Know it well!

I work at the Toyota Car Plant in Derby and I have been down the Hospital in the past after using spotwelders and ending up with 'Spark debris' in the eye :(

Not much fun as you say except I had to have my eyeball 'scraped' instead of 'dremmeled'

My thoughts are with you Fella! :)

been there too in the past month and had a bit of swarf picked with a needle from the iris then had to go back next day for rust removal, and then a couple o days later infection set in ouch it hurt like mad..and bummer was i bought new contour fit goggles a few days before and the twats never worked did they so i am now back to the old trusty set that i have been using that never let anything in...oh well guess **** happens..

 Played that game before. Always wear my specs, one night my eye started hurting as I was locking up the workshop so must have dropped out my hair or eyebrows or something.

Luckily saved myself a trip to a and e and got it out at some with some bog roll rolled up into a point

i always have a good hover down before removing gogs, ive heard too many tails of drills and eyeballs that have made me clench.

reading this has brought back to many bad memories, that anesthetic 'this will sting a little' my arse good fooking job my head was in that jig.
but how weird is it when they put the dremmel on your eye
