drive shaft,knocking noise

ive had a knocking noise for some time so i jacked the old girl up today and there seems to be some play at the gearbox end of the shaft.

what im after knowing is what do i need to buy to rectify,

is it worth buying the compleat drive shaft for 12o sqid from heratage?

or do i just get the joint ,if so what are the parts il need. i see theres a special order part on heratage for the 68 buses

this is about the only part of the van that isent new and ive never had it parts so until i stip it im lost.

any help would be usefull thanxs

If you need a new CV joint then all you will need is item 35 on this link. It contains everything necessary.

The drive shaft is the same through all years from 68 onward.

thanxs bud,after a better look the savo it turns out the top shocker nut n bolt had come loose :shock: tightend it up and noise has gone,its been like that for months.might still have a look at the joint as im sure it shouldent have play in like that

How much play have you got there? does it just need repacking?

Define play. Is it axial, along the line of the drive shaft, if so that's supposed to be there. I wouldn't worry about it unless your CV boot is split.
