On a manual gearbox bay yes , however, you can pull the cv joints about to give the illusion that they aren’t the same length, go off the shaft itself

both shafts removed from van, all 4 CV joints removed, shafts laying side by side on the bench, 20mm difference in the lengths. not sure which side is the correct length.

Auto box drive shafts are different lengths each side, manual should be the same length.

Its been running the last 12 years with these different length shafts!, but i am going to replace them with new shafts and CV joints all round, thanks for the replies

Be careful buying new driveshafts, the splines aren’t usually the same as original so dodgy cvs means new driveshafts
