Early bay rear arch mods for wide wheels?

Ive got gas burner replicas to go on my early bay, fitted with 185/65/15 tyres.

With adaptors (25mm thick) the wheel/tyre is very close to the arch one side, and touching the arch on the other side of the van.

Can i trim the arch lip? Turn down the adaptor/any other ideas?

i'd say lose the adapters and work towards a hub assembly that'll fit the wheel straight. you can get most things done now from third-party hubs to getting things re-drilled.
