More good reason to sell on you favorite forum. Just seen that ebay now charge a fee on you postage and packing.
I have always changed p&p on what it actually costs to post. Just sold a few bits and now due to the fees i will be out of pocket once posted.

Daylight robbery. So now we either have to add fees to postage too i.e. postage price = p&p+paypal fee + ebay fee. Or just give up and use the forum iguess..

grr not fair ebay.

UNREAL!! Few weeks back we sold some bits on eBay and hadn't realised that Royal Mail now charge the earth! Once all was done and dusted we sold something for £20 and charged £12 postage (it was very heavy) the postage actually cost us £23! After fees etc i think we earnt about a fiver!

Fair enough I say. I've never got a bargain on ebay. You sell there and get a premium for your parts. If you sold them here you'd be lucky to get half as much. Plus lots of people abused the system for years requiring such action. One guy in Germany was selling new wheels for 1 euro and charging 400 for postage and avoiding the fees.

agreed with that but they bought in fair postage fees to counter that. I think that was fair and reasonable

I think you're missing the point. He did that to deliberately avoid the sellers fees. You need to play by the rules.

No not missed the point. EBay bought in the fair PNP rule some time ago to stop that happening. I get that.

It just means that if it costs 9.99 to post. Make sure you charge 10.99 otherwise you will end up paying for the postage every time.

Two essential items when selling anything on either eBay or forums:
1. Digital scales ( I got mine for £7 from Aldi).
2. Royal Mail's Price List.
Since April Royal Mail's prices for anything with a bit of weight to it, eg 2-5 Kg, and the smallest dimension in excess of 80mm (not a lot in the grand scheme of things) will cost £13.35 2nd class!
As a result I'm now using MyHermes couriers @ £5.40 for the same weight.

yeah I have used collect plus and my hermes for deliveries now for a while Royal mail just cant compete anymore on price.

best thing about them over RM too is that you can drop them off at a local shop at like 11 pm and they are still open too. Selling on Forum is always my first start, give the nice chaps first refusal. however I dont put my price up to sell on ebay. from now on though I will have to increase ebay price by 20% plus paypal fees just the get the same price.
