Engine bay temperature

Hi all,
I have only recently noticed how warm my engine bay is. When I stopped and felt my rear valance it is quite hot. Looking underneath I noticed how close my exhaust is to it. Is this normal to get this hot? I have J pipes and a bug pack exhaust fitted.
Any info much appreciated.

Yes the rear valence does get hot. Its normal. (As long as the paint and rubber don't get affected)
