Engine lid seal

Hi

Can someone confirm for me if the engine lid seal should go all the way around the opening or just across the top and sides?

Mine just goes across top and sides and it looks like it's about the only seal I don't need to replace! But there seems to be a bit of play when the engine lid is closed, hence wondering if I'm missing rubber across the bottom or if the catch needs adjusting.

I recently fitted a new one to my bus. It goes around all 4 sides in a single piece. Bought from Alex - good quality.
This replaced one that was only on 3 sides. I assume this was because the old seal had at some point split when removing valance and got lost?

Thanks chaps! And good point....already identified the valence seal needs replacing too. Sounds like i'll be replacing every seal going :shock:

I was told the original had a split on the bottom. I did this on my repo one and it makes getting the valance out easier!
