Engine number

Good morning Folks.
I have a 1972 westy import from USA.
Whilst having the heating sorted and needing parts etc.I have noticed on the V5, the engine is registered as a 1700 but the engine number Starts CU .
Looking that up it is described as a 2ltr "Vagabond" engine 1982-84 .
Any thoughts appreciated.

Yes it’s the 2 litre later engine with hydraulic lifters. Nice to have!
