i have a machine mart cheapo one (bout£40)- I then drilled a VW bellhousing to fit it - bonus is I can fit starter and bench run too.

I use a regular engine stand. Just take off two of the bars. The fly wheel has to be off the motor, but it works.

I use a cheap Machine Mart one, just whip off the clutch and flywheel and use 3 of the 4 arms.

Always found it an absolute bonus!
