So if I take out the blanking plug in the nose cone of my '68 gear box and replace with a reversing light switch, are the parts inside the box appropriate to engage with it to activate the switch when reverse is in gear?

Sounds too easy, bound not to be true....

i think its all standard, im sure some gearboxes had the switch but no light, i could be wrong as i havent checked mine since its caked in **** but someone will probably be along to make me look like a fool soon enough.

Make sure you have a good earth too. I earthed to the bumper bracket and kept blowing fuses. Changed to the earth where the rear lights are earthed and no probs since but took some working out!
