Flat spot

Hi all new to the group,
I run a 71 tin top left hooker....1600 twin port with pict 34 bocar carb and a cheapo metal air filter and 009 dissy. I had the famous flat spot when you press pedal holds back then picks up. To sort this issue i have put the standard air filter back on rebuilt another carb 34 pict (solex) and brought a cheapo dissy with vac pipe on it...just to see if this would fix the problem. Its running points with the cheapo dissy at the moment. Since the changes it seems better but not right. I didnt want to spend out on a bosch dissy if its not that. Anyone??

Getting the Vac advance dizzy set up properly should help get rid of your flat spot. Then jetting the carb can be your only other option.

Also check if your accelerator pump is working.
