Its time to sell my daily 
1991 Oak Green Golf 16V GTI.
162,000 miles.
Taxed till Feb 2011
MOT expires 05.12.10
I'm selling this as a project as it needs some work for the MOT, such as:
-both rear brake calipers need replacing
-rear brake hard lines need replacing
-emissions are running high
- handbrake cables need replacing
Other bad points are:
-idles a bit rough when warm
-there is a knocking sound from the suspension somewhere
-a previous owner has committed a criminal act and fitted a towbar. This car does come with a replacement Oak Green rear bumper.
- the rear bumper is loose.
- driver side auxilary lamp lens is cracked. Again, the car comes with a replacement lamp unit.
- sun roof doesn't open
- boot currently doesn't open (a recent development)
- windscreen has a stone chip in the centre.
- general stone chips to paintwork consumate with a 19 year old car.
- drivers side passenger door has some rust bubbles at the bottom
-drivers bolster cushion has a couple of holes
- BBS wheels are curbed
-MFA doesn't work
- there is a dash bulb out but dash still illuminates fine
- rev counter doesn't work.
- has the usual Golf 2nd gear crunch when cold
Good points:
- Oak Green
- Generally tidy looking car for its age
- Car hasn't been modified other than the non-standard BBS wheels, gear knob, accelerator pedal and tow bar
- still pretty quick
- Pirahna alarm and imobiliser fitted
Recent work done since I've owned the car (14 Months)
- Heater matrix replaced with new unit from VW Heritage
- front suspension top mounts replaced
- new drivers side headlamp fitted
- new oil pressure switch fitted
- replacement fuel pump fitted
- new discs and pads all round 12 months ago
- rear brake hoses replaced
- gear linkage parts replaced
- drive belts replaced
I've really enjoyed using this car as a daily for the last 14 months. Its never broken down during this time, and I've done approx 9000 miles in it. The reason I'm selling this I need a more modern daily. I just don't have the time and mechanical skills to sort this car out, but to someone who does have some mechanical know-how, this car would be a great winter project to get ready for next season.
£600 with replacement rear bumper, auxilary lamp and Bentley workshop manual thrown in.
