Found in my rocker cover - what is it from?

I’m gonna go with the retaining clip at the end of the rocker assembly,although it don’t look like it’s from this motors assembly. I’ve had a few rocker assembly issues and that clip looks similar to an assembly that someone gave me when I was stuck and in need but that’s from memory and shouldn’t be relied on as gospel :roll:

I still think it came from somewhere around the rocker gear, if it was loose in the case it would have caused serious damage.

Don’t know how it would have got from in the case to in the rocker box either :| you’d now have a trashed lifter and lifter bore if it had. Most certainly from the valve train.

Now that carbs have been mentioned I reckon it’s off the accelerator pump rod.
