Trying to find my ideal stance for my bus with french slammer drop spindles, adjusters and lowered rear. So far my favourite tyre combos are:

155/65/14 up front and 175/65/14 at rear
165/65/14 up front and 185/65/14 at rear
185/55/14 up front and 185/70/14 at rear

Anyone running these with stock rims? Appreciate any thoughts, oh and what size spare you carry?

Take care

J

On a 14" rim, you don't want low profile on the back, Id try and stick with a stock profile tyre, maybe the 70 at a push.

Up front, again, don't go too lo-pro, maybe the 165.65, depends how low you set it.

Don't use tyre sizes that people with 15" rims use, you are already an inch smaller ;)

Thanks Clem, would the 185/55 up front be a harder ride?

Hi J
I just replied to your PM.
Thought I would add to this as Clem brought up a very good point about the rear tyres, I ran 185/70/14 for a few years, just moved up to 195/70/14 and the difference when driving on the motorway is really noticeable, the bus cruises much better. Stock is 185/80/14 so quite a bit bigger again. have a play on here for comparisons:

I would have thought that unless youve gone mega low ... like, tubs and notches low - it wouldnt be needed.

Many thanks appreciate it :) As I have ever ever had to think about tyres before I am a little unsure why the change in rear would improve the ride? What load rating it suitable front and rear for a camper?

Take care

J
