the wife wants a fridge in the van before we go camping, now this sounds like a simple task from her, but I know this is going to ost a fortune!!

my questions are;

will i need to run a leasure battery?
is it difficult to run a split charger?
will a dynamo charge the lesure battery ok?

thanks

Mark

I have a large 3 way fridge in my van for camping etc...

It's not a fixed item as I move it into the awning when at a site. It's a 3 way one that runs off gas, electric hook up or lighter from the van.

Basically when driving run off the lighter and if you plan on parking up for a while connect the gas and when on site either the gas again or electric. It's bloody big and much better than the crap ones that fit in to the van as not much space for food etc.....

I planned on fitting a leasure battery but in the end decided not to as i don't have a hugh stereo and when I go camping get a serviced pitch or if in a field make do with all my gas run stuff.

I also don't plan to fit a TV etc.. as for me getting away for the weekend is all about the outdoors.

thats basicaly what i have in mind, what model fridge have you got and where did you get it ?

Thanks

Mark

Also great for parties at home for cooling beer and wine when there's no room in the home fridge.

JK also do a version

have a look at my gallery you can get a Engle for around £300 new, you also have the issue that your a lefty so a three way is no good as you can not vent out you will need a 12V/240V. The engle will fit in the place of the westy cool box without much hassle as well.
