Just put transporterhaus dropped spindles on the front of my bus and it's quite low! Has anyone else got them? What shocks do you have on yours please?
 
You'll need coilovers on dropped spindles

Coil overs - butthe bug pack ones are *****, there's loads of info on this on here somewhere :D
 
I had to fit a pair of Monroe air shocks to the front and inflate them with a compressor to raise the van off the tyres!! I got them from vw sunshine for £105 I think and they worked fine, it's a shame after spending all that money on spindles only to have a van that needs raising to drive!!

Maybe a narrowed beam will give you more clearance and have the adjusters in a better position for using Thaus spindles
 
I found another thread on hear and it would seem Gaz coil overs are the way to go, I'm going to order a set tomorrow!
 
Are you sure that someone hasn't tampered with the beam already and this is why it is low? Does it seem to match pictures of other vans on the transporterhaus website? Could have adjusters / cut and turned beam already.

Maybe chuck up some pics.

Isn't that the whole point of dropped spindles though?

In essence you're moving the centre point of the wheel, not the angle of the trailing arms... so the coil rate of the leaves stays the same...

Not saying that you won't need uprated shocks, just saying that mechanically nothing has changed, so things shouldn't need to be uprated!! :)

You've apparantly not had the pleasure of driving a bus with dropped spindles :lol:
Your spot on, you have the same suspension travel and spring rate but at about 4-5" lower and that's the problem......the beam hits the floor over bumps!! So ironically you then need to firm up the ride, stiffen the spring rate and/or raise the bus back up a bit!! :roll: not ideal!
It appears that a combination of dropped spindles, beam adjusters and updated shocks is the way to go - not quite the quick bolt on they were first marketed as ;)
 
You'd be right... I usually just weld in adjusters ;)

Or in the instance of my own van, then I do something completely different ;)
