OK bought the wheels now want to get the tyres sorted.

Supplier states 185 65 15's as a standard, reading around about sizes load rating and gear ratios etc add to that the insurance man and I'm stumped.

Called the insurance man and he doesn't appear overly concerned although best to get that in writing seems I can stick what ever size wheels tyres etc as long as they know and they are legal assuming that means tread wise.

So comes down to safety / load gearing and what will actually fit the vehicle.

Black Cirdles etc. advised 195 70 15 but these all around may cause probs?

Hope that narrow things down, for now thinking of standard rubbers all around for now but what will fit without rubbing arches etc. anyone advise......

I used this site to help me calc my tyre sizes so may be of some use, i could be wrong but much below stock tyre size and they wont be van rated although most campers run car rated anyway.

Calcualtor is good but suggests you stay within 3% of the orig dia so would need to go 195 70 15 by the looks of it....

On me 73 bay I have the same wheels, as it is an auto I wanted to keep the same rolling radius and the speedo accurate. On the front I have Piralli P4 Extra load 185/65/15 load rating 92 ( same width as standard to keep the steering not too heavy) On the rear I have Continental Vanco 195/70/15 Load rating 104

Did you think about 195/70/15 all way around...

Do they fit ok under the arches etc.

i'd go with a 185 60 r15 XL - most will do a 88 load rating on the front if you want to go reasonably low

195 55/60/65 r15 reinforced for rear on those sizes 89 on smaller profile to a 95 on the bigger sidewall

I wouldn't go with anything less than an 88load rating and always aim for min xl [extra load] or reinforced...

if you are not going too low then a 195/60 on the front and a 195/70 on the rear will get the load rating as stock....I'm just not sure what the offset is like on the fuch reps....plse post back when you get it sorted as it will be a worthy thread for info!!

OK this is the spec on em ordered sunday arrived yesterday got to have them on by the weekend

Wheel, SSP Fooks Alloy, Polish, 5/112 - 5.5"x15" - ET20

5 x 112, Polished
Fitment: 5/112
Size: 5.5" x 15"
Offset: ET20

as 'we' are not sure what will fit - I'd go to a decent sized tyre place - ring ahead first see what they have got in the r15 size that's load rated more than 89 as a start..then see if they have anything lowish profile. If you went with one size - they get the tyres in and it doesn't fit.....which is why I'd try somewhere that has good stock [but might not be the cheapest] so if a 195 60 doesn't fit they can try the 185 that they also have in stock...or order both saying not sure what will fit/look ok.........

I've been waiting for a person with fuch reps to appear............

mytyres.co.uk is quite good as lists load ratings.....

They fit OK at the rear, but it is a 73 with flared arches (don't know if this would make a difference) stuck with the 185 at the front to keep the steering weight standard.

Hey thanks for your persistence

I've seen some of the Fuch reps fitted at van fest which is what inspired me to get some......

Looked mint 195 65 15 on the back can't remember what was up front but it looked the biz, I've gone all H&S conscious being that I'm trucking around with the wife and three nippers on board......

i'd say they were 60 profiles on the front - they may even be 185's

i'm here cos I also wnat to go fuch rep - they do look good imo, and the expense of new hubs/drums etc etc is too much for me - I've spent 6yrs faffing and I want my new van [if it gets here!] to be driven within the month.........

my 68 has already had later disks on the 68 beam so it's swap the rear bits and fuch rep party time!!

Blinking eck..... I'll check out me camera for more pics..

The fuch alloys looked great which is why I went down that route instead of the W5, well that coupled with the prices I was being quoted to change me brakes and hubs over to W5

Can't believe they arrived so quick, now i just wanna get em on the van

There is a pic in the Vanfest pics thread in general but I dont know how to move it here :(
