hi all having gear probs 2nd is hard toget into 1 st to 2nd is spot on but 3rd to 2nd is a pain its as if the gate is in the wrong place have to push the stick to the left let go then pull back in to second 1st to 2nd goes staight in have changed fround bush and rear linkage bushes it on a 71 bay with 1500 sp engine not sure which gear box any idears????

I would try adjusting the position of the adjuster plate under the gear lever first, might take a few attempts to get the position spot on.

Wait ! - before fiddling with any adjustment :-

The adjustment wont go wrong unless its been messed with or if its worn out.

Make sure the linkage is lubricated and moves freely.

Check your engine and gearbox mounts are not soggy or breaking up.

Check for wear in the bushes of the gear change linkage and the plate under the gearlever.

Check the coupling between the linkage and the gearbox is in good shape.

If those are all ok then check the coupling is tight on the selector shaft and the grub screw is correctly located in the dimple of the shaft.

If all those things are correct then go for adjustment.

its fixed !!! thanks all , 2 bushes ,adjust clutch ,adjust stick position and it now works !!!!!!
