Hi

Just took my gear stick out to check it over cos it's sloppy - I know you all cry - they all are!!

Anyway - is the ball at the end of the gear stick supposed to be a tight fit into the cup of the gear rod linkage? Mine just drops in and out with no resistance although it has some sort of pin that also goes into the linkage

Cheers

Johnny

My one drops in but isn't full of play, any play you have on that will feel worse on the gear lever.
The pin is to turn the gear rod left/right as you go from 2nd to 3rd.

The pin in mine is sprung. It makes it a real nuisance to fit, but I'd imagine it removes some of the play.

Most of the play in the shifting is usualy in the couplers and bushes underneath the bus.
I've changed a couple of them on mine and it made a lot of difference. Also put in a short shift kit for 7 Pounds and it made it a bit better too.
