generator light

Hi,
Can anybody come up with a solution to this problem?
The gen light is on even when engine is running, i have polarized the dynamo and it spins like a good un, only prop is the light is still on could this mean that the regulator is knackered?

If the brushes are good -

Try a new regulator

You have to get the polarising right , not long enough and it won't work, too long and it will damage the windings .

Sorted opened the reg and it has welded it's self together, time for a new reg, picking it up on Sunday at bus and camper show.
