Getting US bus on UK plates

I expect to pick up my US bus with an MOT and all the forms filled in ready to send off to DVLA in Swansea in a day or two. Any idea how long I can expect it to take for the relevant docs to come back so I can drive it on UK roads? I thought I read somewhere it took about a week, or is this overly optimistic? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

I could *possibly* travel down there to hand it in person if it would make a big difference and could get it done there and then...

Filled all mine in last week but form says it could be up to 6 weeks but I'm hoping it's a lot sooner

I recall mine taking around two weeks, I was able to go down to the DVLA office and got all the paperwork checked out before it all got processed.

Thanks gents, hoping more for around 2 weeks than six as then we'd have to cancel our holiday plans - or do something else anyway

Think mine took just over a week.

7-10 working days is normal, make sure you fill in the start date for the tax to run from the beginning of this month (1/5/15), if you put June they will process the application in June!!
