They say it has been the hottest winter in decades here in Finland. But I'm starting get pissed of plowing the snow. I hate winter, manifold is freezing on my loaner and it stalls on idle every time after the choke is off.

we had a heavy fall a month back and i laugh heartly as i drove past the abandoned cars by the side of the road in my bug :lol:

Do you have the correct air filter?

Do your manifold pre heaters get warm within a couple of minutes of driving?

Stock VWs are very well made to cope with the colder climate :)
 
I bet the manifold heating tube (which we call down here 'the idle circuit') is blocked, because it does not get very warm on left side. And also the tube which sucks the warm air to air cleaner is missing. I't was -14°C this morning. Bus started with no problemo, thank god it's only 2 miles to work, I was scarping the windshield all the way, on the inside! :shock:

ace pic 8) I hate the cold, role on the summer...........goes into street to burn another few fridges to get that temp up! :wink:

The tube that sucks the warm air to the air cleaner is actually more important than the manifold preheat, apparently :)
