One of the last big jobs ticked off my list. Had to dedicate a couple of days to this whilst the workshop was clean. So the blends are done and all the new paint has be flatted and polished. It came out a lot better than I’d imagined it would, but it’s very apparent that getting the colour mixed to the code doesn’t necessarily come back with the correct colour. Lot of respect to the guys who do this as a living and manage invisible blends. I’ll stick to welding I think

So my deadline was volksworld Sadly it was out of my control. DVLA and heritage special order bits held me up. Hoping to be on the road in April. Just a few small issues to iron out, get the wheels on, and finish the interior and I’m done. Really pleased with how it’s looking now, was never my intention to go with deluxe trim, but glad I did.

Thankyou. The garage was a lockdown project that had been planned for a while. Sadly I had to sell my pride and joy to fund it, but hey, I now have a new project instead.

Get in. The wheel studs and registration arrived. Tyres have been fitted and a swanky new number plate from Framptons.
Should be on the road this weekend, just final check over everything.
It’s been two years since I sold mine and that was also the last time I drove an aircooled. Buzzing.

Sooo excited for you man!!
Tried to start up my bus yesterday, but it’s got stale fuel in so need to drain the carb bowl and refill with fresh and it’ll spark right up again. Not sure if I have time between all the Easter activities.

Had a quick ride around the block yesterday and it will need some tweaking. I suppose it should be expected as I removed every running part.

Hey Dave.
I know that bus. It’s the RHD Stockholm that was restored at IRVs isn’t it? I saw it at camperjam in the show and shine a few years ago now. Nice bus and was done the same year as my old bus.

I’ve the same issue with cooker knobs. Possibly need somebody with 3d printing skills.

So now my bus is on the road I’ve been doing a bit of camping. Sad thing is, I can’t afford the fuel! Short journeys to the Peak District only.
