Head Bolts

Hello again,
Going to take off one of my heads so i can hellicoil the plug hole this weekend. I am led to believe this is a fairly easy job, my question is should i change the head bolts and gasket? anything else i have over looked?

Assuming this to be a type 1 engine, then you don't have head gaskets and there are no head bolts. You have head studs which are attached to the crankcase and the heads are lapped onto the top of the barrel. Your manual should explain all. :mrgreen:

Thanks for the info, will check the manual. Its a 71 type 2.

Type 2 is the body/chassis, type 1 is the engine. Most type 2's used a type 1 engine.
