Header fouling engine support bar

I have a type 1 engine with a type 2 conversion kit in a '68 bay. The exhaust header clamps up tight against the engine support bar when fitted, is this a common problem or do I just have a badly shaped header?

What fannymold is it? My cheap crappy empi one seems to clear ok
